The Latino community contributes over 800 BILLION DALLORS of buying power annually, being the Largest growing buying group in the country. Our station's demographics are clearly the largest within the country's bilingual population. 60% of the country's Hispanic residents use English as their first Language with Spanish being a close second. This is the demographic that we target and have enjoyed since 1995. Our unique programming also takes in to account all age groups within the Hispanic population by playing music friendly to everyone 24/7.
The model of our programming is reminiscent of the early AM radio programming days, before specialty stations began in the late eighties. At the time one could be enjoying an artist like Frank Sinatra while being followed by say WAR, then the Rolling Stones, Freddy Fender and some Motown, etc. We at CRNLive believe that exposing all genres and talents known and unknown was the best way to program our station so that the Hispanic community could feel proud of the many skills and talents within our culture. We believe that introducing new talent as often as possible satisfies our music pallet leaving our programming to be the only station our listeners need or want. We are incredibly appreciative of the loyalty that our listeners have shown us through the years.
Another way we are promoting and supporting the Hispanic markets is by sponsoring many events we feel have the same goal for our cultura. For years now we have sponsored many important events like, the ALMA Awards, the annual literacy program through the American Library Association called �El d�a de los ni�os/El d�a de los libros�, NCLR Hispanic Conference and various other events.
Our network provides opportunities for students to brush up on their talents while learning Internet and skills in graphic arts. CRNLive has used students learning these trades to provide our site's designs and updates.
